Reflect on 2012.

It's pretty close to a new year so I wanted to reflect on the past year, the resolutions I made or at least tried to make and my new resolutions.

My resolutions from last year were as follows:

1. Have a Photo shoot with a good group of lions.

2. Pet a giraffe.

3. Take chances.

4. See things in a different light.

Here was how I did on those:

1.  Have a Photo shoot with a good group of lions.
-Well, I didn't have a photo shoot with a group of lions like I was expecting...but I did get a picture with one! For spring break me and Kaleigh went to the San Diego Zoo and got some pictures.

2. Pet a giraffe.
-I GOT SO CLOSE but it moved right before I touched it. So again, I just got a picture.

3. Take chances.
-I feel like I did take chances but maybe not as much as I had hoped. One time I took a chance, it just turned into an awkward date.
Other times I took chances it was super fun like taking a spontaneous snowboarding trip. (My first time I might add)

I also would have never met my best friend Mark if I didn't learn to take chances. But I decided to take a chance and say hello to him and introduce myself.
There are many many other chances I took even though they may be small.

 4. See things in a different light.
-I don't know what my original thoughts were by making this a resolution. I do think that there were moments in this past year where I did look at things from a different angle and it made me understand people and situations better. It is a hard thing to do but it helps.

Now we will move on to highlights of my 2012 year.

Meeting new people and making new friends: I never thought I would ever be friends with some of these people but without them in my life, my life would have been very different. Some people I already knew but I grew closer to them and made some strong friendships. Some people don't have pictures but I assure you I am thinking about you too such as Brecia, Amy and Dylan.

Moving in with my best friends: Sometimes it may be hard for me to live with five other girls but I assure you it is fun. I had my doubts but after this semester I assure you and myself that each one of them actually cares about me and wants the best for me and others around them. I love my roommates/best friends!

All the missionaries I said "see ya tomorrow" to: All of them have been great friends to me and I'm super proud of them for being in the field. I am also grateful that they have the priesthood and are blessing others with the power they hold. (minus Dani, but she is still blessing others)

Also, I don't have pictures with the following: Jake, Mike, Kendall, Mitch, Adam, Ben....I hope I'm not forgetting anyone else!

Other random moments this year:
Buying a long board and crashing on it.
Going to Sand Hollow.
Going to Snogression with Tyler, Spencer and Jake and then playing with sparklers.
Going to the 500 Days of Summer bench.
Bonfires.
Letters.
Tiki Shack.
Summer rain storms.
Countless long trips to California.

Thank you to everyone who had journeyed with me this wonderful year. I've gone through a lot of bad....A LOT of bad this year but when I look at the big picture, my life isn't too shabby. So, generally speaking to whomever this applies to, thank you for listening to me and giving me advice. Thank you for rock climbing or going to the gym with me when I needed a stress/anger reliever or a break from things. Thank you for giving me hugs because I needed them. Thank you for telling me I could do it. Thank you for giving me a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for the good times. Thank you for the life long memories. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to in 2013!

And now my new year resolutions for 2013:

1. Be more positive towards my own life and future.

2. Continue to take chances.

3. Don't stress so much.

4. Keep up with letters.

5. Love myself.

To my readers: Thanks for reading this past year. I know I was almost never positive but thanks for reading anyways. Hopefully 2013 will be a good year! Have a happy New Year!
