People die all the time. But when it is someone you know, your world stops. A family friend, Scott Pace, died in Afghanistan, fighting for the beautiful country we all take for granted. I don't think Scott knew my name but I knew him and for some reason I just froze when I heard of this tragic news. Scott was a great man who devoted his life to this country. He was religious, his dad was my bishop back home. This is why it makes me so mad. I don't understand why God takes lives like these. Lives that are lived for good reason. If anyone had a purpose, it was him. He was highly ranked and was going to get out in September. Nearly four months away from being home. God, why do you do this to wonderful people and wonderful families like the Paces? Tonight, and this week, my heart and prayers go out to the Pace family.
We are in a war and we can't control that. People die and we can't control that either. What we can control is how we view things. I now see this country and the war in a whole new light. I don't think anyone should be fighting but they do it because they can and they love us Americans enough to die for us. They fight so we can be free and live. I won't ever take this country for granted anymore. I won't ever think twice about thanking a soldier who is home from war. I won't think twice about saying "I love you" and "thank you" to someone who I know that is fighting in war.
Thank you soldiers. Thank you for securing my freedom. Thank you Scott.
I'd like it if you'd stop blaming God for all the bad things in your life. You know, He takes people because he needs them in the next life. And for everything else in your life...look on the bright side, k?
ReplyDeleteIf you dont like it, don't read it. I just express how I feel on this blog. I don't want people telling me what to write.
ReplyDeleteAlso perhaps that is why they are anonymous, I don't think anyone that had something NICE to say about this beautiful blog post would have to be anonymous. :)
