Finally Summer. Well, Not Quite.

This past weekend, meaning last weekend, actually felt like summer for a short four days. There was no school Monday or Tuesday due to Utah's state holiday. Thank you Pioneers! My sister had EFY this week at SUU so my mom brought her up. I drove to St. George on Saturday and hung out at my Grandma's house until they arrived from California. As soon as they got there we got some groceries and went up the mountain about 45 minutes to my Grandma's cabin. It was sooo peaceful and amazing. The night we got there it started pouring! It was the most wonderful thing thus far this summer. When we first arrived at the house there was a beautiful double rainbow. Then, after dinner it started pouring and me and my little sister went to go play in the rain :)

It was pretty good to spend some time with my sisters...even if they are weird.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day. I slept in and didn't go to the little church in town. The rest of the day was just me sewing a scarf with my Grandma. That night we watched 50/50 and had some sister quality time.

On Monday, we had to take Janna to EFY so we took the back way up to Cedar. I never knew the back way was so pretty. There were really pretty forests back there and it would rain occasionally so it made it ever better. When we got to Cedar we went to the dorms to sign her in. We found her room which was my friends' Landon, Mitch and Kelton's room last year. It brought back good memories going in there. I then went to show my mom and sisters my current apartment and my soon to be apartment. Then we went to Subway and ate some lunch. We then dropped Janna off for good and went to St. George. Me and my mom went to do some shopping at Target for little things for my new apartment. Then we ate at Chuck-A-Rama which was delicious as always. After eating we went back up to my Grandma's cabin. I finished my scarf which I am very proud of.

On Tuesday, (my last vacation day) there was a celebration breakfast and speaker but I slept through it. Let me tell you why. Monday night I found out that my best friend Lexi was flying into Vegas. So I was texting her parents late into the night trying to make a plan to surprise her on Tuesday. I was so excited for my grand plan I couldn't go to sleep. Things fell through and I ended up not going to see her. Tuesday ended up being pretty relaxed at the cabin. On the way back to St. George, there was some mean lightning and rain so we pulled over so I could get some pictures. Of course right when I pulled over the lightning stopped. But I got some good pictures of the beautiful Utah mountains.

My older sister and my mom just dropped me off at my Grandma's house in St. George and I spent some time with my Grandparents. We went to dinner at Claim Jumper. After that I got to hang out with Mark and Zach! I was really happy to see them and spend time with them. They're so fun! I thought we were going swimming so I was an idiot and in my swim suit. Then we ended up not going swimming and went to Swig. Zach put these weird "pearls" in my drink but I just spit them all out. They ask you if you want them and I don't even know what they are but I don't like them. Anyways, we then went back to Zach's house and planted a plum tree. I then had to head back to Cedar because I had class then next day. So at around 10:00 I drove home to Cedar and then studied for the test I had the next morning.

That sums up my only true vacation and summer experience.

The rest of my week went as follows:

Wednesday I got a letter from Elder Moser and went to Sarah's house to watch some movies. I went home at about midnight and my best friend Lexi called me. We had a very good, needed three hour phone conversation. I miss her so much! My phone died in the middle of the conversation and she thought I got mad at her and hung up hahaha. While my phone was charging to call her back I fed a starving kitten that lives at my apartment complex. There are quite a few of them and I've seen them a lot around lately. They are so cute and little and furry! Anyways...

Thursday I got an email that I was accepted to the hiring process for this job I applied for! I was so excited and did the assignment that I was told to do. My mom also came up and we just went to the bookstore for a little bit then she headed back to St. George. I found my sister in the bathroom (she was at EFY) and I hung out with her for a while. I met her Australian guy counselor who was super cool! I went to the variety show for EFY (just the practice) but I eventually got kicked out.

Friday after class I went to eat lunch with my sister in the cafeteria. I ended up eating with Sarah after all the EFY kids left but I hung out at Janna's table with her company and I found out that her counselor actually wasn't Australian and he had faked it all week. The whole company was pissed at him. It was really funny because all the 16 year old girls were in love with him but pretending to be really mad at him. One girl told him about her plan to marry him haha. EFY kids are so funny. That night I went to Sarah's house and watched the opening Olympics and watched Step Up 2 for the first time ever.

Saturday: I had to wake up at 6:30 to go pick up my sister from EFY. We came back here and slept for a little bit while my mom drove up here from the cabin. At about 11 we went and ate lunch at Cafe Rio. We then went to the bookstore so my sister could get some SUU attire. They dropped me back off at my house and left back to the cabin. I just watched psych and packed up my room all day. I'm packing everything in my room because I'm moving apartments on Wednesday. These next two weeks are SO busy, I'm not looking forward to it. Anyways, I happened to look out the window and was mesmerized by the clouds and the sunset. All the clouds looked like a giant painting and the sunset was just glowing! It was so beautiful. The picture doesn't do justice.

I also saw one of the little kittens tonight :) And it didn't run away!!!

And now I'm going to pack some more and probably do some homework. yay.
